Bastrop’s former Comet Cleaners location got new owners and a new name in late May. EcoPress Cleaners offers alterations, dry cleaning and wash-and-fold services, along with pickup and delivery, 24-hour drop-off, drive-up service and same-day options.

Brothers Greg Germer and Gary Germer Jr. plan to relocate their independent insurance agency to downtown Bastrop this fall after renovation delays pushed back the move. Germer Insurance is currently located at 799 SH 71 W. and will move into the former Relics Artisan Jewelry & Gifts storefront.

Manicures and pedicures with acrylics, gels, dips and other options are offered from Amy Martinez’s salon bus in Cedar Creek. The bus is parked outside Magic Duo’s Mystery Bins, the discount shop Martinez opened with her daughter Savannah Lundy in March.
