WHAT WE REPORTED: In July, a firm hired to review the Cedar Park Police Department recommended a staffing analysis and more training, supervision and documentation of the criminal investigations division. The Leander Police Department acquired a police dog in 2018.


THE LATEST: Cedar Park Police Chief Sean Mannix said 2019 will see the completion of the staffing study and five-year strategic plan in the spring. Leander Police Chief Greg Minton said the criminal investigations division now has a computer forensic lab and plans to hire two new detectives early this year.
