According to the city of Cedar Park, the sewer line that runs along Lone Star Drive is reaching its capacity to carry sewage away from homes in the area. Cedar Park officials have set aside funds to replace the line with a larger one, and the construction project, conducted by Smith Contracting Co., is expected to cost $2.3 million. The project was included in the fiscal year 2016-17 utility improvement project, according to the meeting announcement on the city's website. “In addition to a new sewer line that will better serve your needs, Lone Star Drive and Marquis Lane to Cedar Park Drive will be rebuilt and will be a smoother, improved road for you to drive,” the announcement read. The update meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Worship Center, 700 W. Whitestone Blvd., in Cedar Park. It is free and open to the public. According to the meeting agenda, construction is expected to start in early summer 2017 and be completed in spring 2018.
