What we reported The Leander seafood restaurant offers diners a laid-back atmosphere with home-style comfort food, owner Danny Lenertz said. The original South Austin location has been open for more than 20 years, but the Leander location celebrated its one-year anniversary in October. Customers can have dinner in the dining room, stop in for a quick meal or book the banquet room that seats up to 100 people.


The latest The restaurant has added more appetizers and specials on weekends, and in November it added lunch specials to the menu, available Monday-Thursday.


What’s next Lenertz said the restaurant is adding new side items to the menu that are not fried.
By this spring, Cherry Creek Catfish will have a deck, which will
feature live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

What we reported Co-owners Alan Thomas and Arik Skot Williams opened The Rotten Bunch in October 2015. Williams said the two owners wanted a place to have a nice dinner without having to drive to downtown Austin. The restaurant features a menu with Southern and Mediterranean dishes and an extensive wine list.


The latest The restaurant opened a covered patio in the spring that features a TV and games, and it began offering Sunday brunch in November. The restaurant also received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in August.


What’s next Williams said the restaurant created homemade pasta specials, and the owners plan to expand the menu. The Rotten Bunch is planning special Sunday brunches for Mother’s Day and Easter.

What we reported Jenna’s Asian Kitchen owners say they aim to provide an affordable and family-friendly location for fine dining in the Anderson Mill area. Owners Jenna and Min Choe serve popular dishes from Korea and China with a modern twist. The restaurant celebrated its one-year anniversary in March and launched weekend brunch.


The latest The restaurant opened a full bar in January. It has also partnered with food-delivery services, such as Uber Eats and Grubhub.


What’s next The owners hired a catering and events manager to allow them to cater more events and host events in the restaurant. They also plan to launch Tso Chinese Delivery, an on-demand delivery service, in January or February in Central Austin.
