A portion of Vail Divide that has been rerouted to run along the property line between the Bella Colinas subdivision and a 136-acre tract of land owned by Lake Travis ISD has prompted the renaming of another street.

Bee Cave City Council voted Aug. 15 to rename the existing portion of Vail Divide that curves east into Bella Colina and continues into the Signal Hill subdivision Los Flores Lane.

Information from the city of Bee Cave states the change in alignment created a southern extension of Vail Divide intersecting the existing east/west segment of Vail Divide at a “tee," resulting in two separate streets named Vail Divide.

Because a portion of the street to be renamed is in Bee Cave's extraterritorial jurisdiction, Travis County had to approve the name change, which it did July 23. City documents state Travis County anticipates having new street signs up on the ETJ portion of the street by the end of August.
