Lakeway residents can expect to see continued lane closures and detours this summer as the city makes progress on its road projects.

Most of the projects underway are part of the voter-approved 2022 Lakeway Transportation Bond.

The $17.4 million package includes plans for road resurfacing, culvert replacements, sidewalk additions and traffic light installations.

The latest

The culvert replacement project on Lakeway Drive from Cross Creek to Lakeway Boulevard wrapped up in July after three months of construction.

According to a city release, the project has already improved water flow and reduced flood conditions during heavy rains.

Resurfacing on Lakeway Drive was also completed, and repaving efforts on Lakeway Boulevard from Flamingo Boulevard to RM 620 are set to finish in early August, per the release. In the meantime, drivers can expect single-lane closures.
