Lakeway City Council held a special meeting at 2 p.m. Dec. 9, during which officials received updates on transportation and safety initiatives. Council also approved a study that aims to streamline city functions moving forward.

Epi Gonzalez, Texas Department of Transportation engineer, updated Lakeway City Council on proposed raised medians that will run through a portion of the city along RM 620 during council’s special session Dec. 9.

According to city documents, the project, which will be funded by TxDOT, will place raised medians on RM 620’s center lane and span from Lohmans Crossing Boulevard on the southern portion to slightly past Bella Montangna Circle on the north end. Read the full story here.

Lakeway staff updated City Council on an ongoing wildfire prevention effort that has been prioritized by officials and involves a weighty volunteer presence, including a deal with a student group from the Lake Travis area called the Young Men’s Service League.
