This year, families from around the Lake Travis and West Austin area gathered to participate in public safety celebrations with police officers and other first responders from West Lake Hills Police Department and Lake Travis Fire Rescue.
The details
Lake Travis Fire Rescue celebrated its event Oct. 26 at Lake Travis Elementary school, which was organized in partnership with Bee Cave, Lakeway, and Lake Travis ISD police departments, along with Lakeway Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
West Lake Hills gathered at Valley View Elementary for its Oct. 27 event, which also featured a We Are Blood donation drive.
Kids and adults alike were invited to dress in costume and meet first responders while enjoying fun activities such as trunk-or-treating and costume contests.
Over 20 agencies came together to display helicopters, police cars, fire trucks, and other specialized vehicles for attendees to view and step inside. Live fire demos and CPR trainings were also featured, and attendees were invited to check out local nonprofits and businesses’ booths at the event, all while enjoying food, drinks, and live music.
