On April 15 at 6 p.m, the Lake Travis Education Foundation hosted a gala and live auction to raise funds for Lake Travis ISD. In this particular event, Nikolas Alan of Nikolas Alan Jewelers donated a custom sapphire pendant that raised $70,000 for the live auction after it was purchased by Christopher and Pearl Levy, according to a Facebook post from the LTEF. It is the highest gala purchase in LTEF history, according to the post. The silent auction with local businesses raised $29,000. Other notable donations include Tony Ciola and Creed Ford IV for the Premier Private Dining experience that sold twice, raising $25,000. This event, and other community support, raised the organization over $900,000 in funding. 512-533-6010. www.lteducationfoundation.org
