As of Feb. 3, candidates who have filed to run on the ballot include:
- Mayor: James Vaughan
- Place 2: Margaret Moore
- Place 4: Julia Webber and Zeke Dumke IV

The window to file closes Feb. 13, according to the Texas Secretary of State.
According to the city, qualified candidates must:
- Be a registered voter
- Have lived in the city for at least one year to run for mayor or six months to run for council
- Be 18 years old prior to the election date
The election is set for May 2, with a voter registration deadline of April 2.
