Lake Travis ISD announced Feb. 19 the decision to extend its school closure following a week of inclement weather conditions, power outages and water service interruptions.

Both in-person and virtual classes will remain on hold until at least Feb. 23 as the district works to evaluate potential damages on campus as well as the ongoing strain on the community.

In an effort to assist struggling LTISD families, the LTISD Food and Nutrition Services Department will provide prepackaged breakfast and lunch from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Feb. 22.

Meals can be obtained at Bee Cave Middle School, Hudson Bend Middle School and Lake Travis Middle School, and regular meal prices will apply. Students do not need to be present; however, families will need to present an identification badge.

Amid the extended closure, LTISD staff will spend the day testing the district’s mechanical systems and identifying any damages on campus in preparation for a possible reopening Feb. 23.
