Eanes ISD campuses, offices and child development centers will be closed Feb. 12 to accommodate inclement weather challenges, according to a Feb. 11 update from the district.

Several neighboring districts will move to 100% remote learning amid freezing temperatures. However, in light of potential staff shortages, EISD announced the decision to call off in-person and virtual classes.

“With these area districts moving to remote learning, we know this will affect many of our staff members who have children in those other school districts,” an EISD release stated.

Students will not be required to make up the missed day because sufficient minutes were factored into the 2020-21 school calendar, according to information from the district.

Students and staff are scheduled to return to campus Feb. 16 following the President’s Day holiday.

In the event that the inclement weather persists into next week, EISD will move to 100% remote learning in an effort to avoid extending the school year in May.
