A new pickleball venue is in the works in Spicewood, with plans to open March 1.

The details

Panoramic Pickleball Academy has two courts available for play during the day or at night. The court also has LED lighting and black lights for glow-in-the-dark pickleball, owner Cindy Hollenbeck said in an email.

Hollenbeck owns the venue alongside her husband Dick, who is a certified Professional Pickleball Registry pickleball instructor. The couple has lived in the area since 1998 and own an industrial automation company, Hollenbeck said.

What else?

Courts are available for open play to members by reservation only to ensure there is no wait for courts or paddles, Hollenbeck said. Public events at the venue include clinics, tournaments, leagues, private or group lessons, and more.

The courts are located on a ridge above the Pedernales River and are surrounded by elevated decks, allowing visitors to watch pickleball games and see Hill Country views, Hollenbeck said.

The site is still under construction but will still be open for play while work is ongoing.
