Seven new fitness studios opened in the Lake Travis-Westlake area in 2023, showcasing the community’s interest in diverse options when it comes to health and wellness.

RVE Fitness, which opened in February in Westlake, offers a gym, a sauna, a pool, strength equipment and more. The business is owned by Carlos Martorell along with his partners, Esteban Sandoval and Adam Mata.

Marisel Martorel, gym manager and Carlos Martorell's wife, said she has spent 35 years as a registered nurse while her husband has a 35-year background in martial arts. The couple incorporates their respective backgrounds into their new business, Marisel Martorell said.

“We wanted to open a place that would serve the community in a way where we're keeping a more holistic view of what health and fitness is,” she said.

Immersive indoor cycling studio Cyced, which opened Jan. 1 in Bee Cave, is one of two cycling studios that opened in the Lake Travis-Westlake area in 2023.

The studio is owned by Sara and Ali Golshani. Sara Golshani said cycling is all about community.

“Cyced was created for our community—a head space to clear out anything not serving you well and a heart space to fall in love with the feeling that clipping into the bike gives you over and over again,” she said.
