The city of Georgetown's Park and Recreation Department has opened a warming center for those who are experiencing prolonged power outages.

The center is located at 1003 N. Austin Ave., Georgetown, and has limited cots and blankets available. Call 512-930-3596 to check availability.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place, including requiring those using the service to wear a mask, complete a temperature check and maintain distance from those not in their household.

Pets are allowed in portable crates or kennels.

The city will not provide transportation to the center, showers or meals, but the vending machine is stocked.

Those who go to the center should bring an ID, medications, baby food and diapers, phone and charger, snacks and refillable water bottles. Parking is located off Chamber Way and individuals should enter the facility at the teen/senior entrance.
