The Red Poppy Festival will return to downtown Georgetown April 25-27, bringing live music, vendors and parades to the city.

What residents should know

Road closures will begin the evening of April 24 and last through April 27, according to a city news release. City officials shared an interactive map for the festival, which displays three phases of road closures.

Clicking the button in the upper left-hand corner of the map allows users to navigate additional information, such as parade routes, no parking zones and more.

What are the options?

During the event, free public parking will be available at:
  • The Williamson County parking garage at South Rock Street and West Fourth Street
  • A parking lot at Austin Avenue between West Fifth Street and West Fourth Street
  • A parking lot at East 10th Street and South Main Street
  • Parking lots along Martin Luther King Jr. Street between West Eighth Street and West Sixth Street
The city parking lot at Sixth Street and South Main Street will close April 24 at 5 p.m., per the release.

Festivalgoers should be courteous when parking in neighborhoods and avoid blocking driveways, per the release. Additionally, drivers are asked to avoid parking in no parking zones, which could result in a citation or a vehicle being towed, per the release.

Free shuttles will run from Georgetown High School and East View High School April 26 from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. and April 27 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., according to the release. Shuttle riders will be dropped off one block away from the Red Poppy Stage.
