Nonprofit AGE of Central Texas will host a free training conference for family members caring for seniors Feb. 5, according to a news release.

The training event, which will take place at the Williamson County EMS Training Center in Georgetown, is designed to help first-time unpaid family senior caregivers manage their new role, according to the release. The conference, a joint effort between AGE of Central Texas and the Williamson County EMS Community Health Paramedic program, is particularly reaching out to those living in rural areas of Central Texas.

The training will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and will teach family caregivers how to provide home-based health care, what to do during an emergency, how to care for seniors with dementia, how to find and use resources in the area, and more. Registration for the conference is free, but there is limited space, according to the release. Individuals can register by calling 512-600-9275 or going online here.
