According to April 12 press release, Shasta Thompson will take over as executive director of Helping Hands of Georgetown, effective immediately.

Rebecca Huggins, who has been the executive director since 2020, retired from her post in late January.

“Shasta is amazing," Huggins said. "She is exceptionally capable and has true heart for this community. She has a desire to support the growth and is mindful of the mission and vision of HHG. We are so excited to see where she takes things.”

Huggins, along with her father and HHG founder Robert Weimer, will remain active on the HHG board.
