Georgetown ISD nurses were recognized Sept. 10 by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce for their work during the pandemic.

The chamber awarded the Healthcare Cornerstone Award to GISD nurses for their dedication and for the high level of professional care they provide to students.

During the ongoing pandemic, GISD nurses helped not only with meal distribution but also with the gathering of personal protective equipment supplies for Williamson County. They also monitored and screened guests at graduation ceremonies and reached out to our students with chronic health conditions to ensure they had ongoing care, according to a news release.

Georgetown ISD also received the Texas Art Education Association Distinction Award, according to a Sept. 11 news release. The award was given to the top 4% of districts in the state for outstanding leadership in promoting the arts in school and the community. GISD is one of 42 districts to receive the recognition.
