Faith in Action, a Georgetown nonprofit that primarily offers seniors transportation services to medical appointments and errands, is also stepping up to help meet the anticipated demand of mail-in voting for its current clients.

In an effort to help with those still leery of crowded spaces during the coronavirus pandemic, Faith in Action is offering mail-in application assistance, ballot assistance, and transportation to polls and drop-off ballot delivery locations.

“We understand how difficult it is right now for our senior population to get out, especially if they already have transportation limitations,” Executive Director Vickie Orcutt said in a news release. “Our goal is always to serve our seniors in a way that supports their quality of life and independence. And this is one very important way we can do that.”

Orcutt has worked closely with Williamson County Elections Office to comply with state regulations surrounding application and ballot assistance, the release said.

Clients will receive either staff or volunteer assistance to complete the application, which has very small print and specific rules for witnessing a signature or assisting with completion.
