The Pier 1 Imports store at 1019 W. University Ave., Ste. 800, Georgetown, in the Wolf Ranch Town Center will close early this year. An assistant manager said April was the original estimate the store was set to close, but that is subject to change. The location is currently having a sale prior to the permanent closure. Pier 1 Imports on Jan. 6 announced that it would be closing up to 450 locations and several distribution centers, as well as reducing the number of employees at its corporate offices in Fort Worth. The retailer sells imported home goods, decorative accessories and seasonal decor. 512-864-3152. www.pier1.com
