Texan Urgent Care opened its Georgetown location Feb. 9 on the city’s west side.
The urgent care clinic, located at 4506 Williams Drive, Ste. 120, accepts walk-in patients for medical conditions and emergencies that are not life threatening.
Along with on-site X-ray and labratory services, the clinic provides electrocardiograms, or EKGs; pulmonary function testing; occupational medicine; and glucose and pregnancy testing.
Walk-in patients with a variety of medical conditions, including fractures, allergies, kidney stones, digestive problems, animal or insect bites, minor injuries, strep throat or skin rashes, are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. The clinic does not accept appointments.
Dr. Rohit Patel helped open the urgent care office after working at two other urgent care facilities in El Paso.
Patel said urgent care clinics often see patients for lower costs than emergency room copays and offer a convenient option for walk-in patients.
Texan Urgent Care operates 13 clinics throughout Texas. The first clinic opened in Bastrop in June 2011.
