Officials with the city of Georgetown said there will be stop-and-go closures on DB Wood Road from Aug. 13-16 while the road is paved.

The gist

Motorists should be on the lookout for construction workers directing traffic from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. between Mason Ranch Drive and Oak Ridge Road on DB Wood Road.

The construction is part of the DB Wood Road Phase 1 project, which addresses current and future growth by widening and reconstructing the road, making it four lanes with a center left-turn lane, according to city documents.

The DB Wood Road Phase 1 project is part of the voter-approved 2015 Georgetown transportation bond. Construction began in 2022 and is expected to be completed this year.

The details

The DB Wood Road Phase 1 project is approximately 1.6 miles long.

The project includes:

  • Four 12-foot-wide lanes
  • A 12-foot-wide center turn lane
  • A 6-foot-wide buffer
  • A 10-foot-wide shared-use path
