The city of Georgetown will purchase security cameras and access control for the Austin Avenue parking garage after City Council approval at a March 12 meeting.

The city will pay approximately $178,000 for the security cameras and access control from Convergint Technologies—the city’s security, video surveillance and access control provider, according to city documents.

The purchase includes the installation, programming, testing and licensing for the installed systems, in addition to access control, cameras and emergency phones, according to city documents.

Convergint Technologies will install the security cameras at the Austin Avenue parking garage in each elevator as well as various locations throughout each floor of the garage, according to city documents.

There will also be an emergency wall-mounted communication station installed in each stairwell, according to city documents.
