In two months since the first mailer for census completion went to every mailbox, an average of 56.84% of Central Texas home have completed the survey.

Williamson County continues to lead in responses with 62.7% of households completing the census, data shows.

About 59.1% of the nation’s households have responded to the census either online or by phone. And in Texas, 53.7% of people have responded, data shows.

Here is a breakdown of Central Texas response rates so far.
  • Bastrop County: 49.7%
  • Comal County: 61.3%
  • Hays County: 52.6%
  • Travis County: 57.9%
  • Williamson County: 62.7%
On April 13, the bureau announced it will extend its self-response timeline from July 31 to Oct. 31 due to coronavirus concerns. Households can still respond to the census online, by phone or by mail.
