Looking to honor troops and first responders this Veterans Day? Here are some events happening around Georgetown.

Field of Honor events

Field of Honor is a nine-day event that honors veterans and first responders. While the flags are on display all week and are free to witness, here are other events you can attend. All events but the Patriot Ball are held at the San Gabriel Park activity field, 445 E. Morrow St., Georgetown.

Nov. 9: 5K Honor Walk hosted by the Sertoma Club of Georgetown

8:30-10:30 a.m.


Nov. 10: Resource expo and static displays

11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Nov. 10: Opening ceremonies

2-3:15 p.m.


Nov. 11: World War II and Korean War veteran tribute

2 p.m.

Nov. 15: Multiclub Rotary luncheon

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.


Nov. 16: Patriot’s Ball with dinner, dancing and awards

Sun City event

Nov. 11: Sun City will also host a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza at 11 a.m. The event honors veterans who have served in the military forces as well as the men and women serving today. The ceremony, located at 2 Texas Drive, Georgetown, includes a dedication to Gold Star families and a musical salute to our armed forces.
