Shawn Hood won the runoff race for the Georgetown District 2 city council seat with 66.54% of votes, according to the Williamson County election day results report Dec. 15.

Hood's votes totaled 857, while opponent Lisa King received 431 votes.

Hood has spent about 20 years in a private practice on the Georgetown Square designing new homes in the city and state-wide.

"For the last 20 years, 70% of my design clients have relocated to Georgetown," Hood said in a previous interview with Community Impact Newspaper. "Through the process of designing a home, my clients often stop, look at the courthouse and the excitement of the Square and exclaim: 'I can't believe I get to live like this.' Georgetown is wonderful and worth preserving!"

Results are unofficial until canvassed.
