More than 53,000 Williamson County voters cast ballots during the early voting period ahead of the March 3 primary, resulting in 15.14% voter turnout, according to Williamson County elections data.

The early voting period ran from Feb. 18-28. In that time, a total of 53,392 ballots were cast, including about 5,400 through mail-in, limited and provisional ballots, data shows.

Of the total ballots, nearly 29,800 were under the democratic party and about 23,600 under the republican party, data shows.

There were 18 early voting polling locations for the primary. Of those, the Cedar Park Public Library and the Sun City Cowan Creek Amenity Center in Georgetown had the highest turnout rates.

There will be more than 50 polling locations open throughout Williamson County on Election Day, March 3. Polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Registered voters in Williamson County can vote at any polling location within the county.
