Georgetown ISD is one step closer to work beginning on its fourth comprehensive high school, as contracts for some of the first phases of construction were approved by district officials in March.

What happened

Trustees approved contracts for water infrastructure, site work and commissioning fees totaling just under $49.72 million by consent March 25.

The details

District documents show the following amounts were approved for these contracts:The scope of work for the building's commissioning includes heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems; lighting and controls; interior motion detectors; card reader access for doors; interior and exterior cameras, among other systems included in plans for the school.


Site work, underground utility work, retaining walls and building pad preparation are covered under the GMP approved by trustees. Another guaranteed maximum price for the high school building itself, athletic and fine arts facilities, as well as the agriculture facility will be brought to the board at a future meeting.

The contracts are funded by the 2024 bond, as construction fourth high school was included in the voter-approved proposal.
