Voters in Georgetown ISD have passed four bond propositions totaling $649 million in the May 4 election, unofficial polling data shows.

Polling numbers from both early and election day voting show the following results for each proposition:
  • Proposition A: 69.81% for, 30.19% against
  • Proposition B: 67.4% for, 32.6% against
  • Proposition C: 62.72% for, 37.28% against
  • Proposition D: 60.63% for, 39.37% against

"The passage of all four propositions of the 2024 bond is a testament to our community's commitment to our students' success,” Superintendent Devin Padavil said in a release from the district. “With this crucial funding, we are well-positioned to accommodate the growth of our district and provide our students with resources to support their growth and achievement."

Residents of Georgetown ISD cast ballots in races for four propositions to improve district facilities as well as provide funding for new construction in the May 4 election.

At $649 million, this is the largest bond in the district's history.

In a nutshell


Voting information for both counties was reported after 7 p.m., representing ballots cast April 22-30 during early voting.

The $649 million bond consists of Proposition A, which would designate $597.4 million to capital improvements, school facilities, safety and security; Proposition B, which would allocate $20.33 million to technology and technology infrastructure improvements; Proposition C, which would allocate $27.85 million to fine arts facilities improvements; and Proposition D, which would allocate $3.86 million to improvements to athletic facilities.

The specifics

Unofficial polling information shows the following preliminary results for each proposition:
  • Proposition A: 71.01% for, 28.99% against
  • Proposition B: 68.63% for, 31.37% against
  • Proposition C: 63.79% for, 36.21% against
  • Proposition D: 61.84% for, 38.6% against
Should the bond pass, GISD will levy an additional one cent per $100 valuation on properties within its boundaries.
