Georgetown ISD will hold events honoring Veterans Day across all but one of its campuses Nov. 11, with one campus observing the holiday Nov. 8.

Events are open to the public, per the district.

What's happening?

Cooper Elementary will hold a music program and parade beginning at 9 a.m. in the campus's gym, in addition to an indoor parade Nov. 8.

Other GISD campuses will hold celebrations marking the day Nov. 11, with some to include performances and other activities:
  • Ford Elementary will hold a performance and recognition of veterans at 8:30 a.m., to be followed by a parade in the campus's bus lane.
  • Purl Elementary's fifth grade performance and program will be held at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively, in the Purl Elementary cafeteria.
  • San Gabriel Elementary will hold a drive-through parade in the campus's car line at 9 a.m.
  • Tippit Middle School will hold a community and student assembly at 10:30 a.m. in the gym.
  • Georgetown High School will hold a musical performance perform from 8-8:40 a.m. in front of the school.

Georgetown High School students will perform at 11 a.m. at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony in Sun City at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, 2 Texas Drive, Georgetown.

All visitors attending indoor activities must check in at the front desk of the campus they are visiting and present an ID, per district policy.
