Georgetown ISD students and staff will have slightly higher costs of meals when the 2024-25 school year begins in August, after trustees approved small increases July 15.

What you need to know

The GISD board of trustees approved 10-cent increases to student meals, a 16-cent increase to the price of adult breakfasts and an 18-cent increase to adult lunch prices.

The increases were approved as part of the trustees' consent agenda and were not discussed by the board.
What else?

Some families that qualified for free and reduced price meals provided by the district during the 2023-24 school year must reapply to continue to receive this benefit as soon as possible, as applications from that school year will expire Oct. 1, 2024. Parents and guardians of students who may qualify for the program can do so here.

Per the district, families who have already received a letter from GISD's nutrition services department stating their meal benefits for the 2024-25 school year don't have to reapply.
