Parents interested in learning more about resources for students in Georgetown ISD will have the opportunity to participate in an information session Feb. 8.

What you need to know

GISD will hold a parent learning community session from 6-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the Hammerlun Center for Leadership and Learning, 507 E. University Ave., Georgetown, providing limited child care and refreshments for parents in attendance.

The details

Representatives of community programs, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Headstart enrollment, Back Pack Buddies and immigration services, will be in attendance. A variety of 30-minute sessions about the following topics will be held at the event:
  • Autism resources and parent kits
  • Human sexuality grades 6-8
  • Increasing positive behavior
  • Experience Dyslexia series
  • Internet safety
  • Screen time
  • Bilingual and ESL topics
