New home growth spurs increase in Georgetown ISD student population

More than 6,000 students are projected to join Georgetown ISD's student population over the next decade, a quarterly demographic update shows.

In a quarterly update Nov. 13, demographer Bob Templeton shared projections for enrollment over the next decade, showing the district could add 6,181 students to its roll by the 2033-34 school year based on new housing projects planned for the area.


Georgetown ISD officials set maximum price for second agriculture barn

Trustees of the Georgetown ISD school board approved a maximum price for the district's second agriculture barn Nov. 13, allowing no more than $4,155,500 to be spent on its construction.

In a nutshell

GISD trustees set a maximum price for the barn that includes an owner contingency of $250,000, contractor contingency of $100,000 and cost escalation allowance of $50, per district documents detailing the price cap provided by Chaney-Cox construction. The barn will be located on the Georgetown High School campus.
