All Georgetown ISD students who graduate in the top 50% of their high school class will gain automatic admission to Tarleton State University under a new partnership the district announced in an April 6 press release.
The partnership, which is made possible through Tarleton State’s Distinguished High School Partners Program, makes it so qualifying GISD students will not have to pay for admission fees, or submit ACT or SAT scores.
"The distinguished school partnership between GISD and Tarleton State allows us to collaboratively open a pathway to future growth for the students of GISD," said Terri Conrad, GISD chief strategist for learning and design, in the release. "It is a testament to our commitment to provide our students with exceptional opportunities to further their academic pursuits and achieve their goals."
Additionally the agreement between GISD and Tarleton State includes more scholarship awards for students who qualify for the university’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program.
