POSTED Jan. 30 4:20 p.m.

Georgetown ISD has decided to cancel all after-school events for Jan. 30 out of an abundance of caution, according to a press release.

The National Weather Services has issued a winter storm warning for Georgetown, Austin, San Marcos, Kyle and surrounding areas.

Families registered in the YMCA after-school program will still have access to childcare until 5 p.m.

They are currently working alongside city, county and emergency services officials to monitor the weather conditions.

There will be a follow-up message sent out about any potential updates to their programs for tomorrow, January 31.
