The Texas Education Agency gave Georgetown ISD an overall B in its annual accountability ratings, which were released Aug. 15.
The district received an 82 as the overall score for the 2021-22 school year. These overall ratings measure how much students are learning in each grade and whether students are ready for the next grade, according to the TEA.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the TEA did not release accountability ratings for 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years.
GISD received an overall score of a B in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.
The overall grade includes three performance areas: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. GISD received a B in student achievement and school progress and a C in closing the gaps.
Additionally, GISD received a score of 73 on the STAAR performance rating; a 90 in college, career and military preparedness; and a 90 in graduation rates.
In addition to providing overall district ratings, the TEA rates each campus individually. If a school is designated as not rated it means the school scored below a 70 on the accountability ratings report card.
