Recovering from the pandemic, enrollment for the 2022-23 school year is expected to increase by 1,048 students. Although Georgetown ISD increased starting teacher salaries by $2,700 to $53,000 for the upcoming year, the district’s average teacher salary trails behind the state’s.

Student enrollment

While enrollment dipped in 2020-21 due to the coronavirus pandemic, from 2019-20 to 2022-23 enrollment is projected to increase by 12.38%.


2021-22 student statistics

A smaller percentage of GISD students are economically disadvantaged and English learners than the percentage statewide. The district has a slightly higher percentage of special education students.


Average salary by position, 2021-22

In 2021-22, GISD Superintendent Fred Brent had a salary of $242,500.

The daily rate for substitute teachers in the district is $115.

Additionally, average salaries for teachers, support staff and administrative staff in Georgetown lagged behind the state average, while paraprofessional staff made slightly more than the state average.
