On March 16, Georgetown ISD announced that it would suspend normal operations for two weeks after spring break, which ended March 22.


As GISD begins distance learning March 23 for the 12,000-plus students in the district, here is what you need to know about your student's education for home learning:

  • GISD is closed until April 3 with plans for students to return April 6.

  • GISD is updating parents on coronavirus plans at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on its website. The Thursday update will include directions on distance learning for the following week.

  • For the week of March 23-27, educators have provided activities to supporting continued student learning. These activities are optional enrichment work, and no grades will be taken during this time period.

  • For the week of March 30-April 3, information will be released March 26.
