Georgetown ISD remains open for its scheduled half day March 13, district officials posted online.

"We apologize for the late notice, but we did want to reach out and confirm that we are still open for school today, Friday, March 13," it said.

The district also said that if parents chose to keep their student at home March 13, the absence will be marked as excused.

The district reiterated in it announcement that while there have been two unrelated presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in Austin, there are still no confirmed cases in Williamson County as of 8:30 a.m. March 13.

"Please know the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost concern and we will continue to monitor the situation and update you with new information. We will be sending a more comprehensive communication regarding next steps and our leveled approach soon. This plan will include dates for communication over the next week while we are out for spring break," it said.
