The Jarrell board of trustees accepted the resignation of longtime trustee Sue Lofland on Oct. 16 and is looking to fill her vacancy, according to a news release.

The board opted to appoint someone to serve in Place 4 until November 2020 when that position would be up for election, the release said. All seven members of the Jarrell ISD board of trustees represent member districts and must live in the district they represent, it said.

The member district for Place 4 in Jarrell ISD includes portions of the Sun City neighborhoods 1, 5, 7, 15, 24A, 24B1, 24B2 and 33, the release said. The district is seeking individuals who are willing to serve the district in this capacity and live within these neighborhoods, it said.

If interested in serving on the board, contact Jarrell ISD Superintendent Bill Chapman at 512-746-2426 or email him at bill.chapman@jarrellisd.org.

A subcommittee of current board members will interview interested individuals and bring one finalist to the board for approval at a future meeting, the release said.
