See the first, last days of school and holidays for Georgetown ISD in the 2018-19 school year

The athletics department at Georgetown ISD announced a total of 42 high school athletes have signed letters of intent to play college sports following graduation.

At its Tuesday evening meeting, the Georgetown ISD board of trustees approved the 2018-19 district calendar, setting school holidays and days off. GISD staff presented the school board with a final proposed schedule after collecting feedback on the district’s current calendar. Trustees voted to approve it unanimously. Highlights include:

• First day of school- Thursday, August 16
• Students will have a week-long break in the fall Nov. 19-23
• Winter break will begin Dec. 20 and end Jan. 8
• Spring break is scheduled for March 11-15
• Last day of school- Thursday, May 30
