Georgetown's sales tax revenue increased 3.78 percent in May compared to the same month last year, according to data released Wednesday by the Texas Comptroller. Sales tax revenue is the net amount of money a city takes in as a result of the sales tax and reflects the health of the economy. A larger sales tax means more people are participating in the economy. Georgetown's sales tax revenue in May also increased 6.8 percent from revenue recorded in April, according to the data.
