$10.6M waterline project planned in northwest Georgetown

“We've got [a] limited amount of water, ... and Texas is one of the fastest growing places in America,” Carter said at the press conference. “We want to grow. We want to give people good places to live and good places to work. But we also want to make sure that we have enough water.”

The impact

The project is in a “high-growth area” of Georgetown’s water utility territory, according to Hutchinson.

Northwest Georgetown has seen multiple housing and commercial developments along the Ronald Reagan corridor.

“Without waterlines, we can't build houses [and] we can't get businesses open, which means that we can't do economic development,” Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder said at the press conference.
