The Williamson County and Cities Health District confirmed 47 additional cases of the coronavirus on June 17, bringing the total to 1,068. Of those, 621 have recovered, per the report.

Currently, 12 patients are hospitalized, five are in intensive care and two are on a ventilator, it said.

The WCCHD also reported 49% of beds and 65% of ventilators are available.

On June 16, the county passed the 1,000-case mark with 1,021 cases confirmed.

This brings the county's total in deaths to 32.

“Another two lives have left us too soon due to COVID-19," Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell said in a news release.

While the numbers continue to spike, county officials said they do not intend on placing any new restrictions or closures. Instead, it will focus on the number of patients in the hospital, intensive care and on ventilators while encouraging the public to practice "common sense" health measures. Gravell emphasized the importance of masks and 6-foot distancing as the county's strongest tools to fight back against the coronavirus.
