The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will close at 4 p.m. Nov. 5 to allow shelter staff to attend the 13th annual Fur Ball gala.

Normal hours of operations will resume Nov. 6.

The gala will be from 6-10 p.m. at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center.

Guests will enjoy dinner and receive one free drink ticket per person. There will be silent and live auctions and a wine toss.

Proceeds from tickets sales and the silent auction have historically supported WCRAS programs, such as the honor roll program that allows long-stay dogs to receive on-site positive reinforcement-based training and the seasonal kitten coordinator position.

This year, proceeds will support the new Community Animal Wellness fund. According to WCRAS Coordinator April Peiffer, the new fund will enable the organization to pay for things such as trap, neuter and return clinics; vaccine clinics; and a new animal health specialist.

Tickets can be purchased at www.wcrasfurball.com or at https://WCRASFurBall22.givesmart.com.
