The United States Tennis Association of Texas will host the 2022 Texas Slam junior tennis tournament in Georgetown June 11-16, according to a news release.

Event sites include the tennis facilities at Southwestern University, Georgetown Tennis Center and Georgetown High School, as well as other sites throughout Williamson County.

This is the second year of a three-year bid that Georgetown will host the event, according to the USTA.

“The Texas Slam is the largest junior tennis tournament in the country and Georgetown is a perfect match to host," USTA Texas Executive Director Van Barry said in the release. "With an abundance of courts mixed with the Georgetown atmosphere and hospitality, we are looking forward to a week of fun for the participants both on and off the courts.”

Information from the USTA states the Texas Slam is one of the largest junior tournaments in the country, and close to 1,000 youth tennis players 18 and under compete for recognition as the best in Texas within their age brackets.



Georgetown is home to more than 150 tennis courts, including 86 lighted courts at nine sites and 48 practice courts, the release states.
