Reed has served as assistant city manager since January 2016, but he is leaving to work as the city manager for the city of Cibolo, located east of San Antonio.
While at Georgetown he led development-related departments, including planning public works, systems engineering, permitting and inspection as well as human resources and community services, the release said.
Starting June 14, Georgetown Police Chief Wayne Nero will serve as interim assistant city manager until the position is filled, the release said. The city plans to have a new assistant city manager by Oct. 1.
