The city of Georgetown is hosting a riverbank cleanup event in San Gabriel Park on June 5, according to a news release.

Volunteer check-in will be at 8:30 a.m. A safety briefing will begin at 8:55 a.m., and the cleanup will last until 10 a.m., the release said. Attendees will be provided with trash bags, gloves, light snacks and drinks, it said. Participants are encouraged to wear long pants, hats, sunglasses and closed-toe shoes for their protection, it said.

The park is located at 445 E. Morrow St., Georgetown.

There is a possibility that the event may be canceled due to bad weather, the release said. Interested parties should see the city’s social media page for updates, it said.
