Georgetown City Council approved a zoning amendment to allow for single-family residential units and an increase in total residential units in Sun City during its regular city meeting May 25.

The changes in residential units will affect the area located at 135 Sun City Blvd., Georgetown, Georgetown Planning Director Sofia Nelson said.

The amendment will allow for an increase of 75 residential units, increasing total units in the area from 7,500 to 7,575.

The request for the amendment was made to permit the development of additional units and a new product type on this previously undeveloped tract within Sun City, Nelson added.
